Bailey Brissett is a contemporary visual artist working and living in the Berkshires. Brissett grew up on the border of Connecticut and Massachusetts and at an early age, she discovered the joy and comfort of creating. Her years of formative art education has greatly inspired her interest in learning and working with all kinds of mediums and making processes although she has a particular love of illustration and ceramic sculpture. Brissett uses herself and mental illness as her artistic muses and in doing so her art strives to convey compassion and unapologetic candor. Through her undergraduate study of Arts Management, Brissett has been afforded opportunities to work in the arts with her position at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) Gallery 51 as a gallery attendant, a research and content development internship with the Berkshire Regional Arts Integration Network (BRAINworks), and as a teaching assistant intern with IS183 Art School of the Berkshires. Her artwork has been featured in SUNY Dutchess student art exhibitions in 2017 and 2018 and the annual Berkshire Art Association Fellowship show in 2018. She is currently an undergraduate majoring in Arts Management with a minor in visual art at MCLA in North Adams, MA.
